Our vision is to continue growing our vibrant community by raising awareness about the full scope of our programming and financial aid offerings. DCH is a community organization where everyone is welcome, little kids become big kids, and friends become family.

Our History
DCH (Dedham Community House) was founded as the Dedham Community Association in 1922 when Charles J. Kimball and a group of civic-minded citizens purchased an estate originally built by Judge Samuel Haven in 1795. The purpose of forming the charitable, nonprofit association was to preserve the historic mansion and provide a recreational center for the people of Dedham and surrounding areas.
Today, that original mission still rings true, however we have evolved into so much more. We offer a breadth of educational, recreational, and civic programs organized by our dedicated Board of Directors and staff. DCH’s highly regarded preschool offers caregivers a childcare option where their kids can flourish in a caring environment. Our popular summer camp gives young kids a chance to enjoy the summer with friends and older kids the opportunity to work their first job as camp counselors. Other programs include our community pool, youth and teen programs, adult education classes, event space rentals, and a partnership with the Dedham School of Music.
DCH has become a true partner to the community, proudly offering scholarships and financial aid to help make programs accessible. We also support other local community groups through donated or discounted meeting and event space and by hosting networking events for local nonprofit organizations. We provide more than $200,000 in charitable discounts for programs and donated space each year.
