Home Alone Safety
November 30 | 3:30pm-4:45pm Ages 9-11 | $70 Location | Lower Level of the DCH House
Is your child ready to stay home alone?
Whether you need to run an errand, have a child arriving home before you, or want to prepare for the next stage of independence, Home Alone Safety helps children develop the skills and confidence to handle time on their own.
Participants will learn:
Telephone and door-answering safety
Internet and online safety
Accident and fire prevention
Basic first aid
How to respond to common situations and unexpected problems
Time-management skills for after-school hours
How to make safe, responsible decisions when an adult is not home
The goal is simple: help your child feel more prepared and independent while giving you greater peace of mind.
About Our Instructor
The class is led by Juanita Allen Kingsley, owner of AllenKingsley - Lifelong Learning Essentials. Juanita holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University. She completed her EMT training at Northeastern University and earned her Wilderness EMT Certification through Mountain Aid Training International. Juanita teaches safety, first aid, CPR and preparedness courses throughout Massachusetts, helping children and young people develop practical skills, confidence and good judgment.
BLAST Babysitter Lessons, Safety Training & CPR
November 30 | 4:45pm-7:30pm Ages 10-14 | $105 Location | Lower Level of the DCH House
Ready to become a confident, responsible babysitter?
A great babysitter gives parents something important: peace of mind about the person caring for their children.
BLAST, Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training, prepares young people to take on the responsibility of caring for infants and children safely and confidently. This American Academy of Pediatrics course combines childcare basics with safety training, first aid and CPR.
Participants will learn:
• Basic infant and child care
• How to respond to medical emergencies
• First aid for common childhood injuries and illnesses
• CPR and AED skills
• Household safety and accident prevention
• How to choose age-appropriate games and activities
• How to prepare for babysitting jobs
• Tips for interviewing and getting started as a babysitter
• How to handle the responsibilities of caring for someone else's child
Participants receive a certificate of completion, first aid instructions, babysitter checklist and CPR certification.

Toddler Soccer: Big Fun for Little Feet
Day: Saturdays
Time: 9:30AM - 10:15AM Ages 3-4
Give your child a playful introduction to soccer in a supportive setting built for ages 3 to 4. Led by Brian Kelly of Be Ahead of the Game, each 45-minute class uses music, movement games, obstacle courses, and simple skill stations to keep young children active and engaged.
Children will practice kicking, dribbling, balance, coordination, listening, and taking turns. Coaches encourage each child to participate at a comfortable pace. No soccer experience is needed.
Parents and caregivers are welcome to cheer from the sidelines.
Location: DCH Gym, 671 High Street, Dedham MA
Fee: $120 for 5 classes

Sneakers are required in the gym. Please bring a water bottle. Enrollment is limited to 16 children.

Preschool Soccer: Builds Skills, Confidence, and Teamwork
Day: Saturdays
Time: 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM Ages 5-6
Help your young athlete take the next step in soccer. Led by Brian Kelly of Be Ahead of the Game, this program gives children ages 5 to 6 more time to develop dribbling, kicking, ball control, agility, and teamwork.
Each 45-minute class combines skill stations, obstacle courses, group games, and age-appropriate challenges. Children will learn to follow simple game routines, work with teammates, and grow more comfortable controlling the ball. New and returning players are welcome.
Parents and caregivers are welcome to cheer from the sidelines.

The ZUMBA program is a fitness-party that fuses hypnotic Latin/International rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!
