DCH Pool Closed Today for Maintenance 7/6/26

The Dedham Community House Pool is closed today, July 6, 2026, while we perform maintenance.

During routine water testing, we identified elevated phosphate levels. Phosphates are naturally introduced into outdoor pools through rain, pollen, leaves, dust, and other environmental factors. While elevated phosphate levels do not make the water unsafe to swim in, they create conditions that reduce water clarity.

Clear water is essential for our lifeguards to maintain full visibility throughout the pool. Out of an abundance of caution, and to ensure the safety of our members and guests, we have made the decision to close the pool while we treat the water and restore optimal clarity.

Today's forecast for cooler temperatures and rain also factored into our decision. Rainfall contributes additional contaminants and reduces water clarity, making it more difficult to maintain the visibility standards required for safe operation.

We are also closely monitoring the forecast for tomorrow, Tuesday, July 7, when nearly an inch of rain is expected. Based on current conditions and the forecast, we anticipate the pool will likely remain closed tomorrow as we continue treatment and monitor water clarity.

Please check our website before visiting for the latest information on pool hours and any weather or maintenance related closures.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thank you for your continued support of the DCH Pool.
